Scholarship student Haruhi Fujioka stumbles into the Third Music Room at the elite Ouran Academy and accidentally shatters an eight-million-yen vase belonging to the school's Host Club. To work off the debt, Haruhi — mistaken for a boy thanks to short hair and a plain uniform — is drafted as a host alongside flamboyant club president Tamaki Suoh and the calculating Kyoya Ootori. The club entertains wealthy classmates while Haruhi navigates a world of privilege from the outside.
