The secret Hellsing Organization defends England from vampires and ghouls under the command of Sir Integra Hellsing, the family's young head. Its ultimate weapon is Alucard, an ancient and nearly unkillable vampire bound in service to the Hellsing line. On a mission against a priest-turned-vampire, Alucard offers a fatally wounded policewoman, Seras Victoria, the choice to become a vampire and survive; she accepts and joins his side. As supernatural attacks across the country grow more organized, Integra traces them to the remnants of a Nazi project bent on building an army of the undead.
