Thrown out of his orphanage and starving, Atsushi Nakajima saves a man trying to drown himself in a river — the unpredictable detective Osamu Dazai. Dazai recruits him into the Armed Detective Agency, whose members each wield a supernatural ability named after a famous writer; Atsushi's lets him turn into a giant white tiger. As he learns to control it, the Agency's work pulls him into conflict with the criminal Port Mafia that Dazai once served.
