Tatsuhiko Kido moves from a small town to Tokyo to attend art school, and on his first night in the new apartment he finds a small hole in the wall that looks straight into the room next door. Through it he gets a full view of his neighbor, Emiru Ikuno, who confronts him the next day but, instead of reporting him, proposes they take turns spying on each other through the hole on a fixed schedule. The arrangement binds the two college students together as Emiru's blunt games and shifting demands keep pulling Kido off balance.
