Chito and Yuuri are two girls drifting through the upper layers of a vast, abandoned city long after war emptied the world. They travel on a Kettenkrad halftrack, scavenging fuel, rations, and scraps of a vanished civilization as snow falls over the ruins. Chito reads, navigates, and keeps the machine running, while Yuuri handles the rifle and takes things as they come. Quiet days of climbing higher and finding small comforts make up their slow journey across a dying landscape.
