Three years after the government revealed that monsters are real and launched an Interspecies Cultural Exchange program, an ordinary young man named Kimihito Kurusu finds a lamia named Miia placed in his home by a clerical mistake. As her overworked case officer leaves the error unfixed, more monster girls follow, and Kimihito ends up hosting a household of nonhuman guests, including the harpy Papi and the centaur Centorea, while strict exchange laws govern how humans and monsters may interact.
