Teiko Junior High's basketball team produced five prodigies famed as the Generation of Miracles, but almost no one remembers the quiet sixth member who made them work. That player, Tetsuya Kuroko, enrolls at the upstart Seirin High and teams up with Taiga Kagami, a powerhouse raised in the United States. Nearly invisible on the court, Kuroko uses misdirection and passing to set Kagami up, and the pair aim Seirin straight at the former teammates now scattered across rival schools.
