Ritsuka Uenoyama, a high-schooler who plays guitar in a band with college students Haruki Nakayama and Akihiko Kaji, finds his usual napping spot taken by a quiet classmate named Mafuyu Sato, who is clutching a guitar with broken strings. After Ritsuka fixes it, Mafuyu asks to be taught how to play, and the first time he sings the band realizes his voice carries something raw. Mafuyu gradually joins as vocalist, and his presence pulls the group toward writing songs about what they each can't say out loud.
