Tatsuhiro Sato is a twenty-two-year-old hikikomori who has shut himself in his apartment and convinced himself that a shadowy organization called the NHK engineered his withdrawal from society. His isolation cracks when Misaki Nakahara, a girl who claims to know all about him, hands him a contract: nightly meetings in a local park where she will counsel him out of being a hikikomori. Drawn back into contact with his neighbor and former classmate Yamazaki, Sato lurches between half-finished schemes to rejoin the world.
