Yuiko Kubozuka loves animals, but every creature she meets bolts away from her in terror. The transfer student Leo Aoi has the opposite problem: animals flock to him, yet his wild eyes and feral manner make classmates treat him as a monster. When Yuiko looks past his frightening face and becomes his first friend, Leo grows fiercely attached to her — a bond complicated by the bloodlust that surfaces in him at the sight of blood, which only Yuiko seems able to calm.
