A 14-year-old girl beaten at home and bullied at school is about to end her life when a stranger in a mask stops her. Rather than let her die, he takes her home with him, gives her the name Sachi, meaning happiness, and the two begin living together in his apartment. Sachi treats their escape as a pact: if they stay ahead of the police and her parents she will marry him, and if they are caught they die together, while a kidnapping search closes in around them.
