Kae Serinuma is a heavyset second-year high schooler and devoted fujoshi who would rather pair up her male classmates than be pursued herself. When her favorite anime character dies, she shuts herself away for a week and emerges suddenly slim and conventionally attractive. Four boys — Yūsuke Igarashi, Nozomu Nanashima, Hayato Shinomiya, and Asuma Mutsumi — plus the cool Shima Nishina all begin competing for her, even as Kae keeps daydreaming about shipping them with one another.
