Yamato Akitsuki moves to Tokyo to live in the boarding house his aunt runs and start at a new high school. There he meets Suzuka Asahina, a standout high jumper who has a room in the same building and quickly takes over his attention. Hoping to get closer to her, Yamato joins the track-and-field team, and turns out to have real talent in the hundred-meter sprint as he chases both the event and Suzuka.
