Fuuko Izumo has kept away from everyone for ten years, because anyone who touches her is struck by catastrophic bad luck. The same Unluck killed her parents and more than two hundred others when she was eight. Ready to end her life, she runs into Andy instead, a man who cannot die however badly he is hurt and who wants only to find a death that sticks. The two team up, and a secret organization called Union soon hunts them down and offers them a place among its agents, each of whom negates some piece of reality.
