To help pay off her father's debts, high schooler Fumi Ohno takes a live-in housekeeping job and expects to serve a kindly old gentleman. Instead she finds Akatsuki Kibikino, a young, blunt, perpetually irritable novelist who can barely keep his own house in order. Fumi moves into his home in Tsubaki-chou and learns to manage his moods, his deadlines, and his sharp tongue, while the strange arrangement slowly turns into something neither of them expected.
