Takagi and Nishikata are married now, years past their classroom teasing wars, and raising a kindergarten-aged daughter named Chi. Takagi has lost none of her knack for needling her husband, and Chi turns out to have inherited the same mischievous streak. This spin-off runs in short domestic chapters that follow the family through everyday routines as Nishikata once again finds himself outmaneuvered, this time by two generations at once.
