Zaha Sanko is a dark alien teenager hunted across the galaxy because legend holds that whoever owns his bones can have any wish granted, which makes nearly every creature he meets want him dead. He survives on the run with Avakian, a giant talking skeleton who guards him and disguises himself as a backpack, the two searching for whoever is behind the wish that put a target on Sanko's back. Along the way they tangle with Shimada Death, a feared death-god alien who feeds on the corpses their fights leave behind.
