Koyomi Araragi survived a vampire attack and now lives as a near-human with traces of regeneration, trying to pass as an ordinary third-year student. When classmate Hitagi Senjougahara slips on the stairs and he catches her, he realizes she weighs almost nothing. Sent to the supernatural specialist Meme Oshino, the pair learn a crab-shaped oddity has stripped away her weight, and Koyomi keeps crossing paths with other girls bound to their own apparitions.
