Hikari Hanazono has placed second to Kei Takishima since a childhood wrestling match she lost to him, and she has chased him through school ever since, determined to beat him at anything. Both now sit among the top seven students at elite Hakusenkan Academy, a ranked group called Special A, or S.A. While Hikari treats Kei purely as a rival to topple, she stays oblivious to his feelings for her, surrounded by fellow S.A. members Akira, Tadashi, Ryuu, Jun, and Megumi.
