Madoka Kaname is a fourteen-year-old middle schooler in Mitakihara whose ordinary life turns when a cat-like creature called Kyubey offers her and her friend Sayaka Miki a contract: any single wish granted, in exchange for becoming a magical girl who hunts witches. The veteran Mami Tomoe shows them what the job involves, while a transfer student, Homura Akemi, warns Madoka away from the deal. This manga retells the television series across three volumes, one chapter per episode.
