Madoka Kaname is a fourteen-year-old middle schooler in Mitakihara with an ordinary life until a cat-like creature called Kyubey makes her an offer. Any single wish granted, in exchange for becoming a magical girl who hunts witches, and her friend Sayaka Miki gets the same deal. The veteran Mami Tomoe shows them what the job involves, while a transfer student, Homura Akemi, warns Madoka away from it. This manga retells the television series across three volumes, one chapter per episode.
