Fresh off a breakup, office worker Michiyo Ozawa wanders into the apartment of Zenji Oyamada, a neighbor a few floors below her in the same building. His place is crammed with Buddhist statues and oddball clutter, most of it impulse buys his brother keeps shipping over, and the room earns the nickname Bonnouji, a temple of worldly desires. Ozawa finds the chaotic space oddly soothing and keeps coming back, and her easy evenings with the unhurried Oyamada slowly grow into a relationship between two adults in no rush at all.
