Masamune Kazama is a mild-mannered office worker who once loved Yoko, an older classmate who left to study abroad and never returned to him. Years later he learns that Yoko has died, and meets Koharu, the five-year-old daughter she raised in secret and who is also his. Masamune takes Koharu in and slowly grows into fatherhood, the two of them bonding over their shared memory of Yoko and the eraser-carved ladybugs he used to make.
