Synopsis
Taizou flees his past to the tiny South Pacific island nation of Blefuscu, where he checks into the run-down Voynich Hotel without realizing what it harbors. The hotel is staffed by maids who are immortal witches, among them Berna, and frequented by contract killers, drug dealers, and ghosts. Through loosely linked, darkly comic episodes, Taizou settles into island life as the Voynich's supernatural and criminal undercurrents swirl around him.
