Synopsis
Jiro Azuma, a seventeen-year-old descended from a shinobi clan, keeps to himself a strange gift: he can talk to animals. When he nurses an injured black cat back to health, the cat reveals itself as Rago, a mononoke — a demon spirit at war with humankind. A stronger mononoke soon kills Jiro, and the dying Rago fuses with him to revive him, sharing his power. Recruited by the Bureau of Espionage, the two hunt the mononoke threatening the city.
