Tetsuo Tosu, a mild-mannered salaryman who reads mystery novels, learns that his daughter Reika's boyfriend Nobuto is abusing her and has killed past girlfriends for money. In a moment of desperation Tetsuo kills him, then sets out to commit the perfect crime, hiding the body with help from his wife Kasen. The problem is that Nobuto was the son of Yoshitatsu Matori, head of a local yakuza branch, whose men begin closing in on the family.
