Kiri Koshiba is a naturally gifted hairstylist who quietly gives plain classmates makeovers without taking any credit. At her school the Scissors Project, a flashy trio of Shogo Narumi, Kazuhiko Ochiai and Kei Minami, stages public makeovers and means to become the best beauty team in Japan. When they turn away Kiri's friend Kanako as too plain to bother with, Kiri takes the job on herself, and her anonymous talent outshines Narumi's showmanship enough to pull her into a rivalry she never wanted.
