Ryuuji Takasu is a kind-hearted student whose sharp, intimidating eyes make everyone mistake him for a delinquent. Starting his second year, he ends up beside Taiga Aisaka, a tiny, fierce-tempered girl the school calls the Palmtop Tiger. When Ryuuji discovers Taiga has a crush on his best friend Yusaku Kitamura, and Taiga learns he likes her own best friend Minori Kushieda, the two strike a deal to help each other win over their respective crushes. These are the original light novels behind the manga and anime.
