Five years after a goblin raid burned his village and killed his sister, a nameless boy registers at the Adventurers Guild in a frontier town, starting at Porcelain, the lowest rank there is. In crude gear and almost always alone, he takes the goblin-nest jobs no other adventurer wants, and crosses paths again with the childhood friend who lived through that same attack. This prequel traces how the single-minded hunt hardens him into the silver-ranked adventurer later known only as Goblin Slayer.
