Kamui Shirou returns to Tokyo after six years away to carry out his late mother's wish and face the destiny waiting for him at the end of the millennium. Two opposing forces converge on the city: the Dragons of Heaven, who guard seven barriers to preserve humanity, and the Dragons of Earth, who would scour the planet clean of human taint. Kamui must choose a side, while keeping his distance from childhood friends Fuma and Kotori Monou, whose fates are bound to his own.
