Math teacher Kouhei Inuzuka has been raising his small daughter Tsumugi on convenience-store meals since his wife died, unable to cook for her himself. A cherry-blossom outing leads them to Kotori Iida, one of his students, crying alone over a boxed lunch, who invites them to her mother's restaurant. There the three start cooking together regularly, working through simple recipes so Kouhei and Tsumugi can finally share a warm home-cooked meal.
