Fighter D is one of the nearly immortal foot soldiers who lost the war thirteen years ago and now has to keep losing it, week after week, in a staged battle against the Divine Dragon Rangers for cheering crowds. The invading army was put down inside a year; the broadcast never stopped. D refuses to keep playing his scripted defeat, and a mimicry power that lets him pass for human gets him inside the Rangers' ranks to take them apart from there.
