In junior high, Futaba Yoshioka liked a quiet boy named Kou Tanaka, but a misunderstanding ended things before they began, and he transferred away. Years later in high school she meets him again, now going by Kou Mabuchi and far more guarded and sharp-tongued than the boy she remembered. As Futaba sheds the deliberately unfeminine act she adopted to avoid the jealousy that isolated her, she tries to understand what changed Kou and whether the feeling between them is still there.
