Shijima Tsukishima spends two years shut in her closet before deciding to start high school — and on the morning she heads out, shimeji mushrooms sprout from her head. At school she meets Majime Yamashita, a classmate born with a fried egg where her hair should be. The two girls grow close as their town keeps bending into stranger and stranger shapes around them. Tsukumizu tells the story in surreal four-panel strips.
