Magus of the Library

In the poor village of Amun, a book-loving boy named Theo is barred from the local library because of his pointed Haupi ears and the prejudice that follows him. He dreams instead of Aftzaak, the City of Books, where the great central library stands. When a traveling Kafna — a librarian-agent of that library — visits Amun and recognizes Theo's hunger for reading, the encounter opens a path toward the apprenticeship he never thought possible.
