Iruma Ikaruga is an ordinary high school student until mascot-like aliens invade Earth, descending in giant hives and loosing flesh-melting wasps and towering, razor-toothed "dolls" that slaughter everyone in their path. The attack costs Iruma his everyday life, his best friend, and his crush. Six months into the ruined world, he glimpses that girl again, alive, and is pulled into the fight against the doll-wielding invaders.
