Chikara Nagai is a manga artist scrambling to finish Resonance, his sci-fi thriller about the telepathic investigator Satoko and a brainwashing cult called the Nameless Faith. The character he means to kill off snatches the climactic final page and flees with it. Nagai is pulled bodily into his own story, face to face with creations who treat their fictional world as real and resent the fate he has written for them. Satoshi Kon left the work unfinished; the edition closes with a rough chapter recovered after his death.
