Lain sits alone in her room, starved for contact, counting off the people she has lost. Touko has turned cold toward her, her parents have divorced, and she has cut off Tomo and Kyoko. Then there is Misato, whom everyone insists was never real. Lain cuts the collar off her toy dog Bike-chan and insists Misato existed, only to find that the art supplies she remembers buying with her are gone. This short color one-shot by Yoshitoshi ABe sits alongside the Serial Experiments Lain anime rather than standing on its own.
