Yasuto Akashi walks out of school after a fight with his childhood friend Senichi Aoyama, and that is the morning a wave of lethal children's games erupts across the country. Counted as an absentee, he is funneled into a different gauntlet from the classmates trapped in their rooms. Every contest forces ordinary kids to play playground games with their lives at stake, the way the deadly Daruma-san ga Koronda opened the first series. This second series runs alongside the events of the original and follows Akashi's own run through the gods' trials.
