On her first day at the elite Itan Private High School, Shoko Komi is taken for a serene, untouchable beauty, when in truth a severe communication disorder leaves her unable to speak to anyone. Her plain seatmate Hitohito Tadano works out the gap and learns her real wish: to make 100 friends. He volunteers to help. This 2015 one-shot introduced Komi and Tadano a year before the serialized run began.
