Yakumo Saitou is a withdrawn, sharp-tongued college student born with a red left eye that lets him see the spirits of the dead. He treats hauntings as problems with a cause: find the reason a spirit lingers, resolve it, and the haunting ends. When Haruka Ozawa's friend Miki collapses after a dare at a building rumored to be haunted, Haruka seeks out Yakumo for help, becoming the first stranger unafraid of his red eye and the partner who pulls him into one spiritual case after another.
