Mio Omori scrapes by on part-time jobs, raising her little brother Hinata alone while their mother stays hospitalized. Walking home one night, she runs into a violent young man who steals her first kiss, throws money at her, and declares he'll "buy" her. The next day her mother reveals that their landlord, an old friend of Mio's late father, has offered her work as a maid at his mansion, placing Mio squarely back in the path of the family she would rather avoid.
