Venus in the Blind Spot gathers a selection of Junji Ito's short horror stories, from an adaptation of Edogawa Ranpo's "The Human Chair" to the much-cited "The Enigma of Amigara Fault," in which hikers find human-shaped holes opening in a mountainside after an earthquake. The collection runs through stand-alone tales such as "The Licking Woman," "Billions Alone," and "Keepsake," alongside an autobiographical piece about Ito's admiration for horror artist Kazuo Umezu.
