Gods have invaded Japan, leaving whole cities in ruins and fenced off as Danger Zones. Sachiyuki Tokinaga researches for the Anti-God Scientific Research Institute, which is looking for a way to kill beings that shrug off conventional weapons and hypnotize people with their eyes. When he stops a teenage girl named Waka Kamikura from walking into one of the zones, he finds that she has god-like eyes and power of her own. The Institute wants Waka as a weapon; Waka already decided to kill gods after losing Shion, her only friend, to one.
