In a world where nations entrust their safety to costumed heroes, fourteen-year-old Teru Momijiyama is Japan's hero Shy, a crippling case of stage fright at war with the job's demands. After a malfunctioning amusement-park ride forces her to act, she saves nearly everyone but fails to spare one girl from serious injury. Resolving to grow steadier and braver, Teru works alongside heroes from around the globe to protect ordinary people while a shadowy organization called Amarariruku begins to stir.
