A man from Earth is thrown into a novel's world and, with nowhere to turn, assumes the identity of Ludger Cherish, a newly hired professor who dies in a train terror attack he happened to witness. Posing as Ludger at the empire's foremost magic academy, he has to teach, pass as the real man, and avoid drawing the eye of the school's authorities. What he does not know is that the original Ludger was tangled in the dealings of a dangerous secret society now watching the academy.
