Akira Shiroyanagi, a high schooler who lives for games and konpeito candy, is dragged into a hidden battlefield by a mysterious girl called Mion. The captives are told they've been erased from the family register and made test subjects, each handed a strange power. Akira's gift, Sophist, lets him wield whatever ability his opponent believes he has, and he treats the death-game program as a puzzle to be solved with his head rather than brute force.
