Synopsis
The Ravages of Time retells the fall of the Han dynasty and the Three Kingdoms era through the schemes of a young Sima Yi rather than the familiar heroes. At its center are two operatives whose names form the work's Chinese title: the masked killer Liaoyuan Huo and the strategist Sima Yi's confidant Yuan Fang, who move through the shadows of warlords like Cao Cao, Liu Bei, and the Sun family. Battles are won as much by intelligence networks and deception as by armies in the field.
