Synopsis
In 1959, twelve-year-old Asa Asada races through the storm as Typhoon Vera bears down on the port of Nagoya, desperate to find help for her mother's difficult childbirth. Caught up with a man she takes for a burglar, she ends up working alongside him to deliver food to flood victims, even taking to the skies in a stolen airplane. Her story stretches forward across the decades toward a 2020 in which a giant creature looms over Tokyo.
