Machi Morimoto, an office worker in her early thirties, is tired of her parents pressuring her to marry. Her younger coworker Hana Agaya needs a place to live and proposes a solution: the two move in together and register a same-sex partnership as a sham marriage. Machi is straight and Hana is gay, and both remember that Hana had feelings for her back in school. As they share a home, Machi has to make sense of the arrangement and her own shifting feelings toward her new wife.
