After a worn-down life and a quiet death, salaryman Ryoma Takebayashi is taken pity on by three gods who give him a child's body and a fresh start in their world. He spends his first years alone in a forest, taming hundreds of slimes and discovering the many uses their abilities have, from hunting to cleaning. When he finally crosses paths with the traveling Jamil family, who take him in, Ryoma begins to step out into the wider world he has been quietly preparing for.
